2014 Coolmix's founder, Ajmal Gholzad, came up with the idea of selling smartphone gear and gadgets online. After a great brainstorming session at his parents' house, he snagged domain names like Phonemix, Tabletmix, and Coolmix. To kick things off, he launched phonemix.nl first. 2015 In January 2015, after investing everything in inventory and having no funds for marketing, Ajmal relaunched coolmix.nl. Now, they weren't just about accessories, they also sold used smartphones from Apple, Samsung, HTC, LG, and Sony. With a 24-month warranty and the "Premium" tag, Coolmix caught attention in the Benelux region. 2016 After the first year, sales and smartphone recycling demand exceeded expectations. We’ve opened our first Coolmix Store to provide a personal touch and manage returns. To expand inventory and handle B2B orders, Coolmix secured its first bank loan. 2017 In early 2017, Ajmal encountered a theft that cleared out his bank loan and left him in debt. But he didn't quit! Unable to get another bank loan, he turned to crowdfunding, and within 30 days, over >195 investors from the Netherlands contributed more than €205K. With this backing, Ajmal kept his business thriving, and hope returned! 2018 The crowdfunding money vanished quickly due to the company's debts and supplier credits. Ajmal fulfilled orders using backorders and opened a second store in Amsterdam. At rock bottom with a -500K debt, he didn't give up. Ajmal hustled day and night, staying hopeful. 2019 In a dire financial situation, Ajmal was close to bankruptcy when God survived him; a young man in his mid-twenties approached him to become the new Procurement Master. Ajmal got offered a better management fee and took over the banking debts. Ajmal proved his value from day one, and the new organization was thrilled with his performance! 2020 As Covid19 spread across the NL, Lockdown was coming and the orders decreased. Ajmal decided to step back. However, the Angels of God had other plans. Recognizing the demand for face masks, Ajmal saw the opportunity, selling millions monthly. By mid 2020, Ajmal cleared all debts and headed to Dubai for a new adventure! In addition, we have launched a new website, Kabelmix.nl, focusing on providing accessories! 2021 We established a new office in Vianen (NL) and brought in highly skilled individuals who continue to play key roles at Coolmix to this day. Working together, they boosted revenue by an impressive 30x, putting Coolmix back on the radar. The Coolmix team excelled at every event, earning the respect they rightfully deserved! 2022 This year, we put a lot of energy into customer satisfaction, they're almost like friends now. We've taken some impressive steps, like launching a new warehouse and Genius bar in Dubai for top-notch quality control. Later on, we even opened another office, brought in tech experts, and fully embraced our software vision. 2023 This year, we're going all out. Our office in Dubai expanded to 200m2, we added 10 experts, and we're diving into software development. As we approach our 10-year anniversary in 2024, our skilled software team is driving automation. And guess what? We're gearing up for GITEX in Dubai – a massive Mobile Industry event! 2024 Continued building a scalable Apple wholesale operation for B2B buyers. 2025 Continued strengthening wholesale operations, service speed, and global buyer support. 2026 Supporting wholesale buyers with practical service, stock access, and speed.
